BACnet Alarm Client Service for Windows

If you're an owner or manager of facility automation systems that use BACnet communications software, chances are you've had a hard time finding software that lets you manage and respond to BACnet alarms. If you've looked at typical BACnet Workstation products, you know that most are proprietary and completely unfamiliar. You need a quick way to perform simple actions when alarms occur, like printing out alarm summaries and activating third party programs like SMS messaging. But you don't want all the complexity of a full-featured workstation. You need BACtion™.

BACtion is a simple Windows Service that you can set up to listen for BACnet alarms and event notifications and take various actions triggered by individual alarms. BACtion runs under Windows 7, 8, Server 2008/2012 and XP, and provides a robust alarm management client.

BACtion uses our famous sixth-generation BACdoor Client technology to deliver fast and reliable performance. BACtion works with BACnet/IP over Ethernet.

BACtion provides a powerful and simple scripting engine that matches aspects of incoming alarms against a database of triggers that you define. The trigger criteria are very flexible and matching alarms can trigger automatic execution (shelling) of Windows programs. The shelled commands may include parameters that can incorporate portions of information from the incoming notification dynamically. BACtion can track incoming alarms and print out periodic reports of outstanding non-normal alarms.

For advanced applications, you can also configure two separate BACtion servers that act as master and slave, so that if the master BACtion server fails, the slave server can automatically take over.
